Skilled Idol Vocalist Pays Tribute To His Mentor On "The King Of Mask Singer"

On the May 31 episode of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer,” eight new contestants took on the challenge for the throne.

The fourth matchup in Round 1 was between Raspberry Wine and Green Plum, who sang a duet performance of Zoo’s “I Will Love You.” Raspberry Wine drew the attention of the panelists for his sweet and clean voice, while Green Plum impressed with his range and depth.

In the end, Green Plum advanced with a one-vote difference to Round 2. Raspberry Wine performed Park Jin Young’s “I Have a Girl” and unmasked himself to reveal his identity as GOT7’s Yugyeom!

Yugyeom said, “This is the first time that I’ve sung a song in its entirety on TV. I’m amazed that I was able to come on ‘The King of Mask Singer,’ and I’m happy that I got the opportunity to sing.”

He shared that he picked Park Jin Young’s song for a special reason. “I first saw PD Park Jin Young on TV,” he explained. “I was so young that I didn’t even understand the word ‘sexy.’ Ever since then, my dream was to become a dance singer. I thought he was so cool and I respect him because he’s still active to this day.”
