Big Hit Partners With Live Streaming Company Kiswe + 1st Project To Be For BTS's Upcoming Online Concert

Big Hit Entertainment has partnered with American live streaming company Kiswe Mobile.

On June 9, Big Hit and Kiswe announced, “On June 8, Big Hit’s global CEO Yoon Seok Joon promised to a bilateral global partnership with Kiswe’s president and founder Kim Jong Hoon and CEO Mike Schabel with a memorandum of understanding (MoU).” An MoU is a type of agreement between two or more parties indicating an intended common line of action.

Kiswe was founded in 2013 by Kim Jong Hoon, who is the former president of Bell Labs, Wim Sweldens, and Jimmy Lynn. It is a company that creates streaming technology for live sports and video and is currently partnered with companies all around the world, such as the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Through this partnership, both companies look to seek innovation for fans’ experiences and will kickstart global businesses and services. More specifically, Big Hit, who is already working with global fan community platform WeVerse, plans to implement a “one-stop service” for the music industry.

This strategic partnership is based off both companies’ goal to offer an even more exciting and expansive experience of concert viewing for fans all over the world. Combining Big Hit’s content, planning, and artists’ intellectual property (IP) with Kiswe’s technology, the two plan for a customized service that optimizes fans’ viewing of performances in the ever-changing industry of music and technology.

Their first collaboration project will be “multi-view live streaming” for BTS‘s upcoming online concert. BTS’s “BANG BANG CON The Live” streams on June 14 and will be available to watch in six different angles for fans to choose from.

Big Hit’s global CEO Yoon Seok Joon commented, “Through this partnership, we’ve opened up the possibility of diverse innovations in our global market with Big Hit’s content and planning combined with Kiswe’s technology. Following Big Hit’s philosophy of putting fans’ needs first, we will find the point that maximizes the synergy of this partnership and develop a service that our customers want.”

Kiswe’s CEO Mike Schabel shared, “Kiswe’s partnership with Big Hit allows us to expand from our global sports and media domain into the music sector and explore new ventures in the industry. I believe this partnership will be the start to innovating the fan experience.”
