Jo Byeong Gyu In Talks Along With gugudan’s Kim Sejeong For New Drama
On June 11, an industry source reported that Jo Byeong Gyu will be starring as a lead in the new OCN drama “Extraordinary Rumor” (literal title).
In response to the report, OCN commented, “Jo Byeong Gyu received an offer to star in ‘Extraordinary Rumor,’ and he is currently reviewing it.”
“Extraordinary Rumor” is based on a webtoon of the same name and tells the story of evil souls who return to earth in order to live an eternal life and the Counters who try to capture them. In the series, Do Ha Na is someone who is able to figure out the location of evil spirits with her heightened sense of hearing.
It was previously revealed that Kim Sejeong is in talks to play Do Ha Na. Jo Byeong Gyu has received the offer to play So Moon, the only surviving child at the scene of an accident. He is living a tough life where he must depend on his grandparents. He underwent several surgeries but eventually failed to recover his injured leg, which caused him to have a permanent limp. He wants to live as quietly as possible, but he is continuously tormented by secretive glances, excessive kindness, and disheartening whispers.
If Jo Byeong Gyu accepts the role, this will be his first time playing a lead role since his debut in 2015 via “Who Are You: School 2015.” He has also appeared in various hit dramas, such as “SKY Castle” and “Stove League.”
“Extraordinary Rumor” will premiere in November of this year.
