Girl’s Day’s Hyeri In Talks Along With Jang Ki Yong To Star In Fantasy Drama

Girl’s Day’s Hyeri may be joining Jang Ki Yong in a new drama!

On June 12, Sports Chosun reported that Hyeri had received an offer to star as the female lead of the upcoming drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho.”

Following reports, Hyeri’s agency Creative group ING revealed, “Hyeri received the offer to star in the new drama ‘My Roommate Is a Gumiho,’ and she is reviewing the offer.”

The upcoming drama is based on a webtoon about a female college student named Lee Dam who accidentally swallows the marble of a male gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo Yeo, who was close to achieving his goal of becoming human. If a human swallows the marble, they can only live for one year, and the marble will break, preventing the gumiho from becoming human. Thus, Shin Woo Yeo suggests living together to Lee Dam, beginning their unexpected romance.

Previously, it was revealed that Jang Ki Yong was in talks to star as Shin Woo Yeo. Hyeri has been offered the role of Lee Dam.

After making her acting debut with JTBC’s “Seonam Girls’ High School Investigators” in 2014, Hyeri starred in the popular dramas “Reply 1988,” “Entertainer,” and “Two Cops.” If Hyeri accepts the offer, it will be her first drama since tvN’s “Miss Lee,” which ended in November 2019.

The upcoming drama will be helmed by director Baek Seung Ryong, who previously worked on “Pegasus Market,” and it is in talks to premiere via tvN in the second half of the year.

In the meantime, watch Hyeri in “Reply 1988” below:
