Netflix Series 'Money Heist' Reportedly To Get A Korean Remake

The popular Netflix series “Money Heist” is in discussions for a Korean remake!

“Money Heist,” also known as “The House of Paper,” is a Spanish crime drama series about a group of people who undertake a heist on the Royal Mint of Spain, led by a man called the Professor. Netflix acquired the global streaming rights in 2017 and has since aired four seasons of the show.

On June 18, film industry sources began reporting that BH Entertainment and ZIUM Content were pushing ahead with a Korean remake of “Money Heist.” According to these sources, the companies had exchanged ideas with Netflix and were currently in the development and discussions phase.

Later that day, a source from BH Entertainment told Sports Kyunghyang, “It’s true that we’ve taken steps toward a remake of ‘Money Heist’ with the production company ZIUM Content and the OTT [over-the-top] streaming service Netflix. However, we’ve only shared the relevant content so far and nothing has been decided in concrete yet.”

BH Entertainment is a management agency that includes actors like Lee Byung Hun, Yoo Ji Tae, Go Soo, Han Hyo Joo, Han Ji Min, Kim Go Eun, and more. The agency is also branching out into content production, recently partnering with the U.S.-based company Black Box Management to move forward with an American remake of the Korean horror film “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.”

Would you want to see a Korean remake of “Money Heist?” Who would you like to see in the lead roles?
