The second match-up of Round 1 was between Private and Old Sergeant. The two singers sang hip hop group Buga Kingz’s “tic tac toe” and showed off their rhythmical vocals as well as their rapping skills.

During the performance, panelist Code Kunst figured out who one of the contestants were. He said, “I don’t know why Sergeant came out in a mask. I am 200 percent certain of who he is. And Private is really good at rapping. He has a vibe like an idol rapper.”

In the end, the match-up was decided in Sergeant’s favor with 16 votes to 5, moving him to Round 2. Private then sang Epik High’s Tablo’s “Tomorrow” before unmasking himself as Stray Kids’ Changbin.

Changbin said, “I’m in charge of rapping in the team, so I haven’t had a chance to show people my singing. I would have liked to be more relaxed and have fun, but regretfully I wasn’t able to. If there is a chance in the future, I’ll show a more relaxed side of myself next time.”

He also said to WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon, who was in the audience as a panelist, “I watched you on audition programs when I was a trainee and I got a lot of inspiration from you. I would like to work on an emotional hip hop track with you someday.”
