Gary Nervously Gets Hao Ready For His 1st Day Of Kindergarten On "The Return Of Superman"
On the latest episode of “The Return of Superman,” Gary’s son Hao got ready for his first day of kindergarten!
On the August 2 broadcast of KBS2’s “The Return of Superman,” Gary nervously prepared for Hao’s first day of school. As Gary pointed to the clock, he explained, “Before the clock reaches the nine, we have to get ready. We have to brush your teeth, wash your face, eat breakfast, get dressed, and pack your bag.”
Hao immediately picked out his outfit as his dad began making him breakfast. While busily preparing Hao’s meal, Gary nervously spilled an entire container of sesame seeds and messily cut up his seaweed rolls. However, Hao adorably allowed his dad to calm down by eating well and complimenting his cooking.
Afterwards, the two started packing Hao’s bag and throwing in everything they could see, including Hao’s stuffed animals, pencils, hand sanitizer, bandages, and utensils. To make sure nothing got lost, Gary labelled each item with Hao’s name as Hao proudly showed off the name tag he wrote for his dad. Hao excitedly showed the cameraman his work, insisting he had written down “Dad.”
Hao later placed a name tag on his dad’s forehead and commented, “You’re mine,” which melted his dad and made him laugh during their hectic morning.
The two were finally headed out when Hao shyly pointed out, “My indoor shoes… we left them inside.” They quickly ran back inside and were officially on their way by 9:10. To help his nervous dad calm down, Hao began to sing a bunch of songs. Despite the rain and gloomy weather, Hao adorably commented, “I think I will think of today whenever it rains now.”
Hao expressed his excitement at being able to meet new friends, and Gary remarked, “Because you’re going to school today, I’m so nervous.” He began to get very worried that he would make Hao late, but his son reassured him, saying, “Dad, drive safely.”
Once they got to school, Hao’s teacher greeted him and said his friends were waiting for him. However, Hao froze up at the sight of all his new classmates, holding onto his dad and asking him to come with him. Gary led Hao into his new group of classmates to help him out, but he eventually told his dad he wanted to go home.
When Gary picked him up at the end of the day, Hao began to sigh in the car. He then said, “Dad! But… I don’t know. It’s nothing.” Gary replied, “Was it hard today? Are you tearing up because you had a hard time?”
Gary continued, “They say you’re always a bit shy your first time [at school]. Your other friends were probably shy at first too. Should you go with Mom tomorrow?” Hao responded, “Mom? Without you?” Gary asked, “You like Mom better than Dad, right?” and Hao adorably replied, “I like Dad.”
When Gary asked Hao if he wanted to go back to school tomorrow, he was surprised to turn around and find Hao dozing off.
Later, they showed photos of Hao at school, fully adapted to his new environment and enjoying himself.
