Watch: ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo Surprises MMA Fighter Choo Sung Hoon With Strength Of His Kick

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo impressed MMA fighter Choo Sung Hoon with his strength on “Master in the House”!

On the August 9 episode of the SBS variety show, the “Master in the House” cast met up with their latest master, the accomplished fighter Choo Sung Hoon.

Before they began training, Yang Se Hyung playfully pointed out that when other professional fighters had appeared on the show as masters, the cast members had all gone through the painful experience of receiving low kicks from them for fun—all except Cha Eun Woo, who only joined the show a few months ago.

Choo Sung Hoon responded by mentioning that he had seen UFC fighter Jung Chan Sung’s episodes of “Master in the House,” then proceeded to terrify Cha Eun Woo by remarking, “I didn’t think it was entertaining at all… he didn’t go all out [with his kicks]. In order to properly learn fighting, you need to try receiving a real kick from a fighter.”

UFC fighter and “Master in the House” cast member Kim Dong Hyun interjected, “But in my opinion, the cast members have only tried receiving low kicks from MMA fighters [instead of getting a chance to kick them back]. Fighters are not only strong when it comes to kicking, but they’re also strong when it comes to receiving blows. When we get hit, we don’t feel much pain.”

Yang Se Hyung chimed in, “Then Eun Woo should try kicking [Choo Sung Hoon] first,” but Kim Dong Hyun jokingly disagreed, “No, no, he shouldn’t. We don’t know what might happen if he does.”

Despite Kim Dong Hyun’s protests fearing for Cha Eun Woo’s safety, Choo Sung Hoon readily agreed to exchange low kicks and offered to let the idol go first. However, as the two men got up to face one another, Lee Seung Gi warned Choo Sung Hoon, “There’s something you should know, though. Among all of us, the member who takes things the most seriously is Eun Woo. When he does something, he does it for real.”

Undeterred, Choo Sung Hoon encouraged Cha Eun Woo to try kicking him with 100 percent of his full power. As the other cast members nervously looked on, the ASTRO member delivered a low kick so strong that the sound carried through the room—shocking not only Choo Sung Hoon but also the entire cast and crew, who let out audible cries of surprise.

The other cast members jokingly reprimanded Cha Eun Woo for taking things too far, with Lee Seung Gi telling Choo Sung Hoon with a laugh, “You look a little surprised.” As Cha Eun Woo and Choo Sung Hoon exchanged a friendly hug, the fighter laughed, “He kicks a lot better than I’d expected.”

Pretending to be worried about getting on Choo Sung Hoon’s bad side, Yang Se Hyung joked, “[Cha Eun Woo] and I aren’t that close,” and Lee Seung Gi chimed in, “I just met him for the first time today.”
