GOT7's Jinyoung, Han Hyo Joo, Park Shin Hye, And More Donate Toward Flood Relief Efforts

More celebrities are donating to aid those affected by Korea’s ongoing heavy rains and flooding.

After Korea’s rainy season started in June, torrential rains have been inundating the country in record amounts. These monsoon rains concentrated in Korea’s central and southern regions have flooded residential areas, causing thousands to evacuate.

On August 6, the Korea Disaster Relief Association revealed that GOT7’s Jinyoung quietly made a donation of 20 million won (approximately $16,860) to help the victims of flooding. Newsen reported that Jinyoung did not inform his company about the donation.

It was revealed on August 10 that Han Hyo Joo would be donating the total amount earned from her appearance on the August 9 episode of tvN’s variety show “Hometown Flex” to the New Life Support Center located in Chungju. At the time of the broadcast, Han Hyo Joo’s hometown Chungju was seeing damage due to the heavy rainfall.

Park Shin Hye also made a generous donation, contributing 100 million won (approximately $84,300) through the Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid the flood victims.

Furthermore, News1 reported that actress Park Bo Young donated 20 million won to the Korea Disaster Relief Association as well.

Chun Woo Hee was reported to have donated 10 million won (approximately $8,430) to the same association on August 7. The donation will be used to support flood victims and to restore damaged areas.

On August 6, Yoon Se Ah revealed on her Instagram account that she also made a donation of 10 million won to the Korea Disaster Relief Association and wrote, “We’re in this together. Stay strong!”
