Singer-songwriter eSNa, in a new video uploaded to her YouTube channel esnatheperson, opened up about the difficult experiences she went through due to mistreatment from her agency while promoting her 2015 collaboration with MAMAMOO, “AHH! OOP!”
eSNa first talks about how she came to write the melody and lyrics for the song, and how she had intended for it to be her song for an official television debut, only to later be pushed to make the song a collaboration with MAMAMOO.
She goes on to describe preparing for music show appearances, being told she needed to hit a certain weight, as well as finding out on the day of the song’s release that her name had been left off the song’s credits. eSNa talks about the lack of support from her agency throughout the process, being pulled from television promotions, and repeatedly not being acknowledged for all the work she put into what had been her song.
She also talks about her “AHH! OOP!” remake and diss track of sorts called “AHH! SHIT!” She says, “I think it was the first time in Korea that an artist put netizens in their place.”
