Son Dam Bi Shares Beauty Tips + How Her Taste In Acting Roles Has Changed With Age

In a recent interview and pictorial with Marie Claire magazine, Son Dam Bi offered advice on beauty and aging gracefully.

When asked about her preferences in everyday makeup, the singer and actress revealed, “I don’t like makeup that’s too complicated, so I try to keep it simple, like by putting the focus on my lips with either red or pink.”

As for her skin care routine, she said, “Rather than any special skin care treatments, I think it’s more effective to be consistent with whatever you do, so I use one face mask every day.”

Son Dam Bi also mentioned that her mother, who developed quite the fan following after appearing on MBC’s “Home Alone” (“I Live Alone”), was way ahead of her when it came to taking care of herself.

“There’s no way I can keep up with my mom,” she said with a laugh. “Her diligence is beyond imagination. She always comes to my house with Korean soy milk soup or healthy drinks like broccoli water. It seems like my mom thinks what you eat is more important than what you do to your face.”

In terms of her preference in style, Son Dam Bi commented, “I used to like flashy clothing, but now I find myself drawn to classic and simple looks. Even when it comes to styling, I like my outfits to have just one key point, whether it’s the shoes, the belt, or an accessory.”

When asked what she does for fun in her spare time, the star replied, “I watch films or dramas on Netflix, and I grow plants. I also enjoy making pottery. I started because I heard that touching clay with your hands helps relieve stress, but when I make something like a vase or a plate, I feel really proud and satisfied.”

As for what Son Dam Bi thinks is the definition of “aging gracefully,” she mused, “I think it’s not feeling stressed about it. Rather than being overly aware of your age and being caught up on it, you should forget about it and just live your life. Rather than paying attention to getting older, I think it’s important to mature on the inside while calmly taking care of those around you and enjoying your life freely.”

The actress went on to share that her taste in roles has changed over time, explaining, “When I was younger, I didn’t want to take on roles with a tough or scary image, but now I find myself drawn to these kinds of characters. I’d like to take on the challenge of showing a new side of myself through a villain role or a thriller.”
