Park Eun Bin Reveals What Drew Her To Her Character In “Do You Like Brahms?” And How It’s Different From Her Past Roles
“Do You Like Brahms?” is already gaining attention for being a romance drama set in the world of classical musicians, a theme not often seen in K-dramas. Kim Min Jae stars as Park Joon Young, a genius pianist who has won multiple international competitions, and Park Eun Bin stars as Chae Song Ah, a violinist who is seven years older than her fellow students.
Chae Song Ah possesses a strong love of the violin, made evident by her decision to enroll in the music department of her university after already having graduated from the business school there. 27-year-old Chae Song Ah then spends her summer facing the reality of pursuing her dream amidst her talented peers.
Park Eun Bin revealed the reason why she was able to fully immerse herself in the role of Chae Song Ah, who is the same age as her. “Being able to dream is a really important thing, but as you go through life, you encounter things that you have to give up. When you really enjoy something, you want to be able to do it really well, but it doesn’t always go according to plan,” she explained. “With Chae Song Ah, I saw that she was going through something that anyone could experience. My heart went out to her when I saw her struggling with her dreams and talents while also having a one-sided crush.”
Park Eun Bin went on to describe the differences between her role as Chae Song Ah and her previous roles, as well as what she focused on in order to perfect her portrayal of the character. “As opposed to all of my previous roles, I think I’m able to show viewers a more ordinary side of myself,” she revealed. “I think being more flexible and natural in my pronunciation will suit the character of Chae Song Ah really well.”
Being the same age as Chae Song Ah, Park Eun Bin is certain to have a special affinity for her role. To find out how she will portray the passionate violinist, catch the first episode of “Do You Like Brahms?” which premieres on August 31 at 10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
