Kwak Si Yang Talks About Working With Kim Hee Sun On "Alice" + Living With 4 Older Sisters
Actor Kwak Si Yang appeared as a guest on the September 20 episode of SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling.”
Kwak Si Yang is currently appearing in the SBS drama “Alice” alongside Kim Hee Sun and Joo Won. He said, “I’ve been getting a lot of texts [about how popular the drama is]. Even Kim Hee Sun texted me to compliment me.”
He added, “The atmosphere on set is good, but if I had to pick one person who takes special care of me, it would be Kim Hee Sun. I thought that Kim Hee Sun might be cold and hard to approach, but she’s so kind and takes care of her juniors. She bought me a birthday present even though I never told her about my birthday. She takes care of the people around her and spends her own money freely.”
Asked about his own family dynamics, he said that he has four older sisters. “I have a lot of sisters and I got pushed around a lot growing up,” he said. “My oldest sister is 13 years older than me. I had a lot of frustration growing up as the youngest.”
Seo Jang Hoon said, “They must have helped raise you,” but Kwak Si Yang said, “No, they made me do a lot of errands. If our mom would ask someone to do something, it would eventually fall to me. If we got 1000 won [about $1] in exchange for that, I wouldn’t get the full 1000 won.”
Seo Jang Hoon asked if he thought it would be a challenge for his future wife to have four potential sisters-in-law. Kwak Si Yang said, “I don’t think my sisters would act tough or anything. I don’t think I have to worry. I think they’d accept whomever I wanted to marry.”
