KARD’s J.Seph Announces Military Enlistment Plans
KARD’s J.Seph has announced that he is enlisting to carry out his mandatory military service next month.
On September 21, he posted the following handwritten letter on Instagram.
Hello, this is KARD’s J.Seph (Taehyung).
In 2011, at the age of 20, I went to Seoul to begin my career as a singer, and I was able to spend my precious 20s in a meaningful way.
In 2020, I will be enlisting in the military (on October 5) at a somewhat older age than others. Although I’m a little afraid of the soon-to-be new and unfamiliar environment, I’m also looking forward to my life with a new identity.
I will faithfully carry out my duty as a Korean man and proudly return to everyone’s side.
Until then, please show support and kindness to Matthew [BM], Somin, and Jiwoo as KARD.
I’ll cherish all of the love and energy I’ve received from everyone over this time, and I’ll be sure to stay healthy while I’m gone.
In addition to J.Seph’s letter, KARD’s agency also released the following statement confirming the news.
Hello, this is DSP Media.
KARD’s J.Seph will be enlisting for his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier on October 5.
In accordance with J.Seph’s wish to enlist privately with his family, details concerning his enlistment including the time and location will not be disclosed. We ask for your understanding and that you refrain from visiting the enlistment location.
Please send your support and encouragement to J.Seph, who will make his return as a more mature artist.
We wish J.Seph all the best during his upcoming service!
