In a recent interview and pictorial for Allure Korea magazine, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” star Oh Jung Se opened up about the highs and lows of his acting career.

Oh Jung Se, who recently moved viewers with his performance as Kim Soo Hyun‘s brother in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” has enjoyed an impressive streak of hits over the past couple of years. In addition to the popular tvN drama, he also recently made his mark in the record-breaking box office smash hit “Extreme Job,” KBS’s “When the Camellia Blooms,” SBS’s “Stove League,” JTBC’s “The Good Detective,” and more.

While discussing his blossoming career, the actor spoke humbly about his passion for his work, explaining that he hasn’t always been so fortunate in terms of his roles.

Looking back on the more difficult times in his journey, Oh Jung Se remarked, “Honestly, I was really happy even when I only had bit parts. And when I didn’t have a project for three years, even though I was struggling to survive, I also had a lot of fun during that time.”

“I’ve done projects that made me upset, disappointing projects, and dramas that earned 0 percent ratings,” he continued, “but these days, every project I do has been receiving a lot of love. I’m grateful, and I’m really enjoying it.”

“However,” he added modestly, “this isn’t because I did a good job or anything. I think actor Oh Jung Se is just enjoying some good luck right now. At some point, this luck will probably fade too. But I’d still like to be an actor who doesn’t let that get him down.”
