TV Schedule Changes This Week Due To Chuseok Holiday And Special Programming

Chuseok, commonly known as the Korean equivalent of Thanksgiving, falls on October 1 this year. Broadcasting stations will air special programming in celebration, and cast and crew will also be taking time off for the holiday, resulting in various television schedule changes.

Here are some of the changes to watch out for:


KBS2’s “A Man in a Veil” will not air on October 1 and 2 as well as “Music Bank” on October 2. Special Chuseok variety shows such as “Virtual Marketplace” and the film “E.X.I.T” will be broadcast instead.

My Wonderful Life” from September 30 through October 2, “When I Was the Most Beautiful” on October 1, and “SF8” on October 2, and “Music Core” on October 3 have been canceled on MBC. Programs scheduled in their place include Chuseok special variety show “Crazy Noodle Recipe” and the films “Forbidden Dream” and “Coco.” Other Chuseok special shows to anticipate include the “2020 Idol Star eSports Championships – Chuseok Special” on October 1 and the “2020 Idol Star Dog-agility Championships – Chuseok Special” on October 2.

Mom Has an Affair” on October 1 and 2, “Alice” on October 2 and 3, “Law of the Jungle” on October 3, and “Inkigayo” on October 4 will not be airing. Special programming that will air instead includes the films “The Divine Fury” and “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” and the variety show pilot program “Home Star Wars.” The Chuseok special show “It’s Ramyeon Time” is also set to air on September 30.

More Than Friends” on October 2 and 3, “Ask Us Anything” on October 3, and “Soccer Adventures” and “Don’t Be the First One” on October 4 will not air this week. JTBC has instead scheduled broadcasts of films including “Love, Again,” Cheer Up, Mr. Lee,” “Steel Rain 2: Summit,” “Tune in for Love,” “Black Money,” and “Money.”

Films “Secret Zoo” and “Parasite” have been scheduled to air on tvN in place of the variety shows “The Sixth Sense” on October 1 and “On and Off” on October 3.


“Show Champion” will air highlights from previous episodes instead of a live show on September 30.


M Countdown” will also air highlights from previous episodes instead of a live show on October 1.
