Watch: Girl's Day's Hyeri Cuts Her Hair For The First Time In 5 Years + Donates Locks To Charity

On October 2, Girl’s Day’s Hyeri shared a vlog on her personal YouTube channel about her haircut.

In the video, Hyeri said cheerfully, “Everyone, let’s say goodbye together. Today is the day I’m going to say goodbye to the hair I’ve grown out for five years. I’ve had the urge to cut it during that time, but I’m finally cutting it today.”

When it came time to cut the hair, however, she grew nervous. “I had a short cut in my early twenties, but it’s been a while since then, so what if it doesn’t look good?” she asked. Although she had help from a hair stylist, Hyeri was the one to cut her own hair.

After cutting her hair, she said, “I’m going to try to make ‘mid-length short cut’ a trend.” She added, “I plan to donate this hair to people who need it more than me. It gives me a feeling of abundance.” The hair was donated to child cancer patients.
