Ahn Bo Hyun Talks About His Role In New Fantasy Thriller With Shin Sung Rok And Lee Se Young

“Itaewon Class” star Ahn Bo Hyun has dished on his role in MBC’s upcoming drama “Kairos”!

“Kairos” is a new “time-crossing fantasy thriller” about the interconnected fates of Kim Seo Jin (played by Shin Sung Rok), a man who falls into despair after his daughter is kidnapped, and Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young), a woman who is searching for her missing mother. From Kim Seo Jin’s perspective, Han Ae Ri is living exactly one month in the past—but after the two miraculously communicate from their different times, they set out on a thrilling quest to save their missing loved ones.

Ahn Bo Hyun will be starring in the drama as Seo Do Kyun, Kim Seo Jin’s right-hand man at his construction company. Seo Do Kyun looks up to Kim Seo Jin and admires his boss’s down-to-business approach to his work, but when he becomes the first person to discover a crack in one of Kim Seo Jin’s projects, he ends up becoming the character who leads the drama’s plot in an unexpected direction.

While describing his character, Ahn Bo Hyun piqued viewers’ curiosity by teasing, “Do Kyun is a character who hides his inner self from everyone in the drama.”

He went on to explain that in order to effectively portray Seo Do Kyun, a character who acts differently around different people, he’s been paying careful attention to the subtleties of his character’s shift in demeanor. “I’m focusing on bringing out the details of how his behavior and his emotions change depending on who he’s with,” said the actor.

As for why he had chosen “Kairos” for his next project, Ahn Bo Hyun shared, “The script was so much fun to read. Also, I really wanted to work together with director Park Seung Woo.”

Expressing excitement about his role, he added, “I think I’ll be able to display a different kind of charm from the characters I’ve played up until now.”

“Kairos” will premiere on October 26 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
