Gong Myung Joins Kim Yoo Jung In Talks For Historical Fantasy Drama

Gong Myung may be starring opposite Kim Yoo Jung in a new SBS drama!

On October 9, Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that Gong Myung had been cast as the male lead in the upcoming SBS drama “Hong Chun Gi.” Later that morning, Gong Myung’s agency Saram Entertainment confirmed that the actor had been offered a role in the drama, but clarified that he was still in talks.

A representative of the agency stated, “Gong Myung has received a casting offer for ‘Hong Chun Gi’ and is currently in the midst of reviewing the offer.”

Based on the novel of the same name by author Jung Eun Gwol, whose novels “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and “The Moon Embracing the Sun” have also famously been adapted into hit dramas, “Hong Chun Gi” is a fantasy romance drama set in the Joseon era. Earlier this week, Kim Yoo Jung was confirmed to be in talks for the titular role of Hong Chun Gi, the Joseon dynasty’s only female painter.

Ahn Hyo Seop was also previously reported to be in talks for the drama, though it is currently unclear whether he was offered the same role as Gong Myung or is still in talks for a different role.
