gugudan's Kim Sejeong And Jo Byeong Gyu's New Drama Shares Photos From First Script Reading

OCN’s upcoming drama “The Uncanny Counter” has shared photos from its first script reading with the cast and crew!

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Amazing Rumor” is about demon hunters called Counters who come to earth under the guise of employees at a noodle restaurant in order to capture evil spirits that have returned to earth in pursuit of eternal life.

At the script reading were the director Yoo Sun Dong, the screenwriter Yeo Ji Na, and the actors Jo Byeong Gyu, gugudan’s Kim Sejeong, Yoo Joon Sang, Yeom Hye Ran, and Ahn Suk Hwan.

Director Yoo Sun Dong said, “I am very excited right now to have met actors like Jo Byeong Gyu, Yoo Joon Sang, Yeom Hye Ran, Ahn Suk Hwan, and more. I will do my best to make a production that is entertaining in new, never-before-seen ways.”

Jo Byeong Gyu plays “So Moon,” a special employee among the Counters who is different from the rest. After he meets the Counters, he becomes skilled at taking down demons, and becomes a hero in order to protect his friends. The actor caught everyone’s eye with his new curly hair and said, “This project feels very fresh and new.”

Yoo Joon Sang plays Ga Mo Tak, the strongest of the Counters. He is a comic character who combines wit and a quick tongue with strength that no one else can match. At first glance, he has a heavy charisma, but in truth he has a friendly and relatable side. Yoo Joon Sang said, “When I read the script, I was like, ‘Wow! This is really fun?’ There will be lots of scenes that feel like a breath of fresh air, so I hope that the viewers will feel satisfied.”

Kim Sejeong plays Do Ha Na, the human radar for the Counters who has the ability to sense the presence of demons. She is aloof, confident, and charismatic and is described as a “girl crush character.” Kim Sejeong said, “I really like that this is a story about the forces of good and evil. It’s refreshing and the action scenes are really fun.”

Yeom Hye Ran plays Choo Mae Ok, the only healer among the Counters. With her quick judgment and precise plans, she is the brains behind the Counters’ operation. She also frequently bickers with Ga Mo Tak. The actress said, “This drama is like a comforting bowl of noodles after a refreshing run. I hope that it can give viewers a sense of comfort and satisfaction.”

Ahn Suk Hwan plays Choi Jang Mool, the financier behind the Counters and the man in charge of cleaning up after their mess. He is warm toward the Counters alone, and the actor captivated the reading with his witty lines and ability to get into character.

Other characters include Wi Gen (Moon Sook), So Moon’s friends Im Joo Yeon (Lee Ji Won) and Kim Woong Min (Kim Eun Soo), Jo Tae Shin (Lee Do Yeob), and Kim Jung Young (Choi Yoon Young).
