Information has been released for Melon Music Awards 2020 (hereafter MMA 2020)!

Kakao’s music platform Melon has dedicated the first week of December to its first-ever MMA WEEK, and the awards ceremony will be “untact” (non face-to-face contact) and broadcasted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MMA 2020 plans to take advantage of its online platform and present new ways of connecting global fans to diverse artists and music genres through a variety of new content. During MMA WEEK, a new form of concerts, special videos and playlists to look back on this year’s music industry, a magazine consisting of the many artists’ stories, and more will be showcased.

MMA 2020 can be viewed on various online platforms including their official YouTube channel, the Melon app, and more.

A source from Kakao shared, “Our first MMA WEEK will be a time for various artists, music genres, and fans to meet, and it will be a festival fun for all that revitalizes the culture and arts industry. Although the physical distance has gotten larger due to the influences of COVID-19, people will be able to experience a music festival that brings fans and artists closer musically.”

MMA WEEK begins on December 2 and ends on December 5, and the teaser for MMA 2020 will be revealed on November 6.
