Kwon Nara Transforms Into A Beautiful Gisaeng With A Secret In Historical Drama With Kim Myung Soo

KBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Secret Royal Inspector” (working title) shared new stills of Kwon Nara!

The show is a comic mystery drama about a secret royal inspector who goes undercover in the provinces to bring justice, uncover corruption, and solve the people’s problems. A secret royal inspector was a real government position in the Joseon dynasty, specially appointed by the king.

Kwon Nara will be playing the role of Hong Da In, a beautiful and spirited gisaeng (a courtesan trained in music and the arts) who is actually a damo (a woman who works for a Joseon government office) working undercover. She’s a character who’s famous for her beauty and vigor, but she only needs the title of gisaeng to disguise her true identity and to carry out her mission of uncovering the corruption of aristocrats.

Hong Da In is actually the daughter of royalty, but she has hidden her identity due to her tragic family history from her childhood. However, while approaching the truth of her past, she ends up joining a team led by the new special royal inspector Sung Yi Kyung (Kim Myung Soo).

In the newly released stills, Hong Da In exhibits a beauty that matches the many rumors that describe her as the Joseon dynasty’s greatest gisaeng. The picture depicts her wearing a red jeogori (upper garment of Korean traditional clothes) that highlights her elegance. Furthermore, she stands in front of someone with her arms crossed and a cold gaze that looks down upon the other, exuding a fierce and unapproachable aura. Viewers are highly anticipating Kwon Nara’s transformation into a secret royal inspector.

“Secret Royal Inspector” will premiere in December.
