Lee Jun Young Talks About His "Retro" Character In Upcoming Rom-Com With Song Ha Yoon

Lee Jun Young shared his hopes for his character in the upcoming MBC every1 drama “Please Don’t Date Him.”

“Please Don’t Date Him” is a futuristic rom-com about women who use a device equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to make decisions about who to date.

Lee Jun Young plays the male lead, Jung Gook Hee, who will get involved with Song Ha Yoon’s female lead, Seo Ji Sung. Unlike Seo Ji Sung, who works for an AI development team, Jung Gook Hee is a modern “retro man” who doesn’t have a smartphone or use social media.

About his character, Lee Jun Young said, “He’s a kid who’s stubborn about living ‘retro’ amid modern times. You might think that he’s someone who is behind the times, but he’s not at all uncomfortable. He has a serious personality, so he gets along well with older people. He likes to talk a lot and likes retro things and isn’t good at using a smartphone. Those things are similar to me, but I think I’m a little less frustrating than he is. He’s been single his whole life, so viewers can look forward to how he changes when he meets a woman.”

“Please Don’t Date Him” premieres on November 10 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
