Watch: Nam Joo Hyuk And Suzy Perfect Their Hug Behind The Scenes Of "Start-Up"

tvN’s “Start-Up” has released another behind-the-scenes look at the drama!

“Start-Up” takes place in a fictional South Korean version of Silicon Valley where young dreamers set out to achieve success in the world of startup companies. Suzy stars as Seo Dal Mi, an adventurer who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs, while Nam Joo Hyuk plays the role of Samsan Tech founder Nam Do San.

The video opens with the cast sitting around a table on set and laughing amicably. While pretending to work on his laptop, Nam Joo Hyuk works passionately on a drawing of Yoo Su Bin who is sitting across from him. Suzy compliments the drawing, calling it unique, and Yoo Su Bin jokes, “Depending on what the drawing looks like, I might gift it to Suzy.” Stephanie Lee is also impressed by Nam Joo Hyuk’s artwork, saying that it looks really similar to Yoo Su Bin.

Next, Kim Seon Ho films a scene with Suzy during which his character Han Ji Pyeong is about to say something important, but he gets cut off by Nam Joo Hyuk’s character. While monitoring the scene afterwards, Kim Seon Ho motions to the screen and says, “Go quickly, just go!” Suzy also pities Kim Seon Ho as she monitors the scene, lamenting, “Oh no, Ji Pyeong!”

When filming resumes, Nam Joo Hyuk and Suzy practice their hug for the scene. As they are not quite used to the action yet, two staff members come forward to demonstrate what the hug should look like, with one staff member lifting the other off his feet. Nam Joo Hyuk immediately puts this into practice and lifts Suzy into the air, completing the scene perfectly.

Another clip shows Nam Joo Hyuk intensely focused on a mini arcade game. Not long after, one of the staff members comes to join him, and the pair become engrossed in the game while Suzy looks on. Another staff member says jokingly, “He lost but he won’t leave.” Just then, a bucket sitting on the nearby shelf falls, but Nam Joo Hyuk doesn’t even turn his head from the screen. Finally, Nam Joo Hyuk loses to the staff member and lets out a noise of disappointment.

Moving on, the cast film various scenes at the office. In one scene, Suzy’s character tells Stephanie Lee’s character that she can’t stay with the team, but Yoo Su Bin accidentally exclaims “What?” in a happy manner instead of sounding upset, making everyone at the table burst into laughter. During another take, Nam Joo Hyuk also looks out for Suzy by pointing out her loose hair, which a stylist comes over to fix.

Nam Joo Hyuk also practices a scene with Kim Seon Ho, who desperately grasps his hand while saying his lines. During a break in filming, Kim Seon Ho suggests they look at each other like they’re in a melodrama, so both actors immediately look at each other with romantic gazes. Kim Seon Ho adds, “Watch out for her,” while looking at Suzy, who is sitting next to Nam Joo Hyuk and laughing. However, Nam Joo Hyuk shakes his head jokingly and the pair continue to stare into each other’s eyes.

Finally, Kang Han Na and Suzy practice their speeches, both actresses looking professional as they present their pitches as CEOs of their respective companies.
