Former Black Swan Member Hyeme Shares Letter About Her Retirement And Recent Fraud Accusations

Hyeme of Black Swan posted a letter of apology regarding her recent lawsuit of alleged fraud.

On November 17, Hyeme uploaded a handwritten letter along with an English translation onto her Instagram account.

Her full letter reads as follows:

Hello, I’m Hyeme.

First of all, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to our fans who have beeen disappointed by the recent scandal. Black Swan debuted at a difficult time, so I decided to participate in the album with the aim of helping the members of Black Swan who had just started their career as artists, but my personal problems caused damage to the members. I feel very sad. Also, as the last member of Rania, I feel really sorry for all the fans who have supported me since my debut. I decided to retire after the expiration of my contract, but I will support the members even from afar. I’m sorry again to all the fans who have loved me and to all the people who have worried about me.

Hyeme debuted with the girl group Rania in 2015, and after many lineup changes, the group recently re-debuted as Black Swan on October 16.

On November 9, Dispatch reported that Hyeme was facing a lawsuit over accusations of defrauding a man out of about 50 million won (approximately $45,200). Following the report, Hyeme released a statement through Black Swan’s agency DR Music, explaining that apart from the 5 million won (approximately $4,500) that she asked to borrow, everything else was voluntarily provided by the man. DR Music stated that they were taking legal action against the man as well as the news outlet that first published the report.
