6 Powerful Lines Spoken By Lee Dong Wook And Lee Tae Ri In “Tale Of The Nine-Tailed”
“Tale of the Nine-Tailed” is a fantasy action romance drama that stars Lee Dong Wook as the male gumiho (a mythical nine-tailed fox) Lee Yeon, Jo Bo Ah as producer Nam Ji Ah, and Kim Bum as Lee Yeon’s brother Lee Rang. They find themselves entangled in a battle with Imoogi (Lee Tae Ri), a serpent beast in human form.
As the electrifying confrontation between Lee Yeon and Imoogi draws nearer, the drama shared some of the most powerful lines spoken by the two characters.
1. “I’ll catch you soon, just you wait.”
Having gone to the forest where his brother had been trapped by the Spirit of Darkness (Shim So Young), Lee Yeon purposely fell from the forest and succeeded in luring the Spirit of Darkness into his subconscious. Through the Spirit of Darkness, Lee Yeon was able to grab Imoogi by the collar, smiling as he warned, “I found you. I’ll catch you soon, just you wait.” Through this scene, it was revealed that Lee Yeon already knew that Imoogi was using the Spirit of Darkness to test him, foreshadowing even more thrilling developments in the battle of wits between the pair.
2. “I’m giving you a reasonable offer. If you give up your body, I’ll let everyone else live.”
The end of episode 10 marked the first face-to-face meeting between Lee Yeon and Imoogi. Here, just as Lee Yeon was wondering if Imoogi would dare to touch Lee Rang and Nam Ji Ah, the villain triggered Lee Yeon’s guilt with a wicked proposal, saying, “I’m giving you a reasonable offer. If you give up your body, I’ll let everyone else live.” His ability to shake up Lee Yeon’s mental state only served to heighten the crisis.
3. “You look exactly like you would take the money and run. I don’t make deals with the likes of you.”
In response to Imoogi’s proposition, Lee Yeon shot him down as he said, “You look exactly like you would take the money and run. I don’t make deals with the likes of you.” Lee Yeon continued to prod him further, saying, “Why did you come back alive? You’re the icon of epidemics, wars, and hardships, why would anyone in this era welcome you?” Showing off his control over nature with a clap of thunder, Lee Yeon concluded, “Do you still think my sword is my only weapon?”
4. “Do you want to die now?”
Still filled with his desire to take Nam Ji Ah, Imoogi gazed up at the sky as he whispered, “Do you want to die now?” At that very moment, 132 people took their own lives. Imoogi’s powers of hypnosis were further proved through the meeting between Shin Joo (Hwang Hee) and the Snail Bride (Kim Soo Jin), during which he conveyed orders to them. Viewers are curious to find out what kind of directions he gave them.
5. “Traditionally, water suits you better than land.”
After rescuing Nam Ji Ah’s parents and winning over the Butler (Uhm Hyo Sup), Lee Yeon went to work on putting Imoogi back into his slumber. Having smeared horse blood on his hand, Lee Yeon pushed Imoogi into a puddle of stagnant water, saying, “Traditionally, water suits you better than land.” However, Lee Yeon’s plan failed, and having seen Imoogi awake inside Nam Ji Ah, it remains to be seen if Lee Yeon will be able to play his hidden card without bringing harm to her.
6. “The Imoogi you’re searching for isn’t in this body.”
Imoogi threw Lee Yeon for a loop when he announced, “You guessed wrong. The Imoogi you’re searching for isn’t in this body.” After Imoogi awoke inside Nam Ji Ah in an unexpected plot twist, all eyes are focused on how Lee Yeon, stronger than he was 600 years prior, will take on Imoogi and his fatal plan of attack.
The drama’s production team commented, “Anticipation is mounting over Lee Yeon and Imoogi’s confrontation, which has come about in the same way it happened 600 years ago. Please look forward to the upgraded showdown between the formidable Lee Yeon and Imoogi.”
