Update: EVERGLOW's Yiren And Sihyeon Test Positive For COVID-19 +

Updated December 2 KST:

Several artists who filmed for “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” have shared negative COVID-19 test results.

Yoo Hee Yeol’s agency Antenna announced that Yoo Hee Yeol and staff who worked on the episode received negative test results on December 2. They stated that Yoo Hee Yeol plans to postpone all scheduled activities this week and self-quarantine for the time being.

Yoo Hee Yeol also appears as a judge on the JTBC competition show “Sing Again.” A source from the show stated, “We don’t have any filming planned for the time being. We have footage that is already filmed.” They clarified that Yoo Hee Yeol’s self-quarantine will have no effect on the show’s broadcast schedule or filming.

Gummy’s agency C-JeS Entertainment stated on December 2 that her COVID-19 test has come back negative. They shared that she had been tested as she had exchanged greetings with the EVERGLOW members backstage before performing.

Kim Hyun Chul’s representatives also stated that the singer and his staff have all received negative test results after getting tested on December 1.

Joo Hyun Mi’s agency shared that she and her staff have tested negative for COVID-19.

DAY6’s unit Even of Day (Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon) have also all tested negative for COVID-19. Their agency JYP Entertainment stated that they plan to resume their schedule as normal. The DAY6 members had filmed for “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” on a different day from EVERGLOW, but they were tested as a preemptive measure.

Teen Top’s agency TOP Media shared that C.A.P, Niel, Ricky, and Changjo have all tested negative for COVID-19 (Chunji is currently not promoting with the group as he is serving in the military).

After UP10TION’s Bitto tested positive for COVID-19 on November 30, two Teen Top members had been tested due to potential exposure through a contact, and their results had come back negative on December 1. The other two members, who had had no potential exposure and therefore were not tested at that time, underwent testing on December 2 after the news of the EVERGLOW members’ results, and those two Teen Top members also received negative results.

Singer Ben, who also recently recorded for “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” canceled her showcase scheduled for December 2 and went to get tested. Her agency announced that she and her staff have tested negative for COVID-19.

Updated December 2 KST:

On November 24, EVERGLOW participated in a recording of KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”

EVERGLOW’s Yiren and Sihyeon tested positive for COVID-19 on December 1, but EVERGLOW’s contact with a confirmed case occurred on November 22, putting the cast and guests of the “Sketchbook” episode within the range of potential exposure.

As a result, all the artists and staff involved in that episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” will undergo testing for COVID-19. Apart from EVERGLOW, the guests on that episode included Teen Top, Gummy, Joo Hyun Mi, and Kim Hyun Chul.

On December 2, Antenna Music stated, “Yoo Hee Yeol and his staff learned on December 1 that a confirmed case had participated in a ‘Sketchbook’ recording. They immediately went to get tested and are awaiting results. We will release more details once the results are out.”

A source from KBS stated, “After we were contacted about Yiren and Sihyeon’s positive test results on the night of December 1, everyone who attended last Tuesday’s recording went to get tested early in the morning of December 2. This includes Yoo Hee Yeol, all the guests, and all the related production staff and writers. They have all been tested and are currently awaiting results. Contact tracing related to Yiren will take place at the relevant health center on the morning of December 2. The production staff who weren’t able to get tested yet will also be tested in the morning.”
