On December 5, the main ceremony of the Melon Music Awards 2020 (MMA 2020) took place without a face-to-face audience due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was also broadcast live online.

In 2020, the Melon Music Awards were held over the course of four days from December 2 to 5. The Top 10 artists and other awards categories were announced prior to the main ceremony on December 5.

The performers for the main ceremony were BTS, TXT, MONSTA X, Im Young Woong, Young Tak, Oh My Girl, IZ*ONE, JANNABI’s Choi Jung Hoon, Simon Dominic, Code Kunst, and The Boyz.
