Watch: Kim Myung Soo, Kwon Nara, And Lee Yi Kyung Hilariously Struggle For Justice In New Historical Drama Teaser
Set in the Joseon dynasty, the upcoming drama tells the story of a secret royal inspector who goes undercover in the provinces to bring justice, uncover corruption, and solve the people’s problems.
Kim Myung Soo plays Sung Yi Kyum, a public official at the Hongmungwan (Office of Special Advisors) who becomes appointed to the position of secret royal inspector. Kwon Nara co-stars as Hong Da In, a damo (a woman who works for a Joseon government office) who goes undercover as a gisaeng (a courtesean trained in music and the arts). Lee Yi Kyung plays the role of Park Choon Sam, Sung Yi Kyum’s trusty servant and right-hand man.
In the teaser, Sung Yi Kyum is a righteous secret royal inspector. He commands, “From this moment forth, seal up the government office’s storehouse door, and return the taxes you’ve unfairly collected back to the people.”
However, the teaser also portrays the imperfect and clumsy sides of the secret royal inspector’s team. Park Choon Sam tries to protect Hong Da In and Kang Soon Ye (Jo Soo Min) from two mysterious swordsmen. Although he’s frightened, he yells, “I’ll guide you to hell!” When they move their swords, however, Park Choon Sam fakes bravery and says, “Stay where you are. Only move when I move!” The phrase, “A dangerous life,” then appears on screen.
In another scene, Sung Yi Kyum steals kimchi from a jar, only to be scolded by Hong Da In. She asks, “Is it okay to touch other people’s belongings or not?” Later, Hong Da In has a feast secretly eating kimchi from the same jar as the phrase, “A hungry everyday life” pops up on screen.
Sung Yi Kyum also finds himself in a dangerous situation on the floor, tied up with a sack over his head. He initially panics after hearing someone else enter the room. When Sung Yi Kyum realizes that the other person is Park Choon Sam, the two cry out to each other in relief. The phrase, “A more extreme job than imagined,” appears on screen.
Finally, the scene flashes back to Park Choon Sam facing the two swordsmen. Although he pretends to act brave, he screams and curls up in fear the moment they try to attack him.
