Watch: Im Siwan And Shin Se Kyung Enjoy Filming Multiple Unexpected Encounters In

JTBC’s “Run On” has shared the first behind-the-scenes look at the drama!

“Run On” is a drama about people trying to connect with each other in their own languages after having lived in different worlds and at different paces. Im Siwan stars as Ki Sun Kyum, a former track and field athlete who retires after a life-changing event and becomes a sports agent. Shin Se Kyung co-stars as Oh Mi Joo, an adventurous foreign film translator.

The video begins with Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung rehearsing for the eventful first meeting between their characters. Shin Se Kyung practices bumping into Im Siwan, and after she spills the contents of her bag on the street, Im Siwan goes through her belongings one by one while providing commentary. He picks up her script and says, “You must be a celebrity,” which makes the surrounding staff chuckle. The duo then stage a flea market, and Shin Se Kyung tries to wave Im Siwan away when he attempts to haggle for a better price.

Im Siwan then reveals his gentlemanly side as he requests a blanket for Shin Se Kyung, who has to fall on the ground multiple times to film their scene. He continues to show concern for her throughout filming as he asks her if she had any scrapes, and when the director finally yells, “Cut,” he immediately helps her to her feet. Later on, he worries about her hand after it becomes red during a scene in which Bae Yoo Ram grabs her by the wrist.

Next, Im Siwan, Shin Se Kyung, and Bae Yoo Ram create a fun atmosphere as they fill the set with laughter during a tense scene where Im Siwan’s character holds Bae Yoo Ram’s character at gunpoint. Shin Se Kyung misjudges the timing for the scene and jumps in fright too early, startling everyone around her. She sheepishly apologizes, but her co-stars can’t stop laughing at her cute reaction.

The cast then moves to a park to film the second unusual meeting between the two leads. Im Siwan practices throwing a cylindrical bag like a javelin, mastering the technique thanks to pointers from the staff. Walking up behind him, Kang Tae Oh jokes, “You missed,” bringing a smile to Im Siwan’s face.

Shin Se Kyung has a hard time making her cap fall off in the midst of running, so the staff cleverly attach a fishing line to pull it off. She also discusses details of the scene with her stunt double, who shows her how to fall after running into someone on a bicycle. The cast also enjoy filming a scene in which the police arrive, joking that Shin Se Kyung’s character has a gun while the police have nothing.

The next clip shows Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung waiting to film their next scene at an outdoor cafe. After it begins to rain, Im Siwan jokes that he always brings the rain with him, to which Shin Se Kyung replies that she usually brings the sun with her. Sooyoung says that she brings the sun as well, and asks Im Siwan, “Wait, there’s two suns here, so how did this happen?” Shin Se Kyung offhandedly replies, “He must be really strong.”

The cast continue to joke around, pointing out a line in the script that says that Im Siwan’s character can’t keep his eyes off Shin Se Kyung’s character. Sooyoung challenges him to try it, and Im Siwan responds by slowly turning his body away while keeping his head turned toward Shin Se Kyung, which makes everyone laugh. Sooyoung also attempts to make Shin Se Kyung’s hair dramatically billow in the wind by holding a portable fan up to her face.

While waiting to film a close-up of their hands, Shin Se Kyung begins to inspect Im Siwan’s hand and is surprised to see that there was no dry skin on his fingers. He then makes her laugh as he practices saying, “Bang!” in different voices. Sooyoung and Shin Se Kyung also attempt to flip a water bottle on the table, and after they both fail Im Siwan tries as well, sulking in disappointment when the bottle doesn’t land upright.

Finally, Sooyoung and Im Siwan rehearse a scene where she touches his chin. When she has trouble reaching across the table, Im Siwan asks if he should lean over, noting that it might add some comedy to the scene. Sooyoung makes him laugh when she tries to rub the side of his face to reduce inflammation, and the pair then begin to make vigorous motions with their hands to mimic a facial massage.
