BTS Scores No. 1 On 2020 Lists Of Top Selling Physical Albums And Digital Songs In United States; NCT 127 Is No. 6 For Physical Albums

BTS’s “Map of the Soul: 7” was the highest-selling physical album in the United States last year!

MRC Data (formerly Nielsen Music) has released its U.S. year-end report for 2020, based on the tracking period of January 3 to December 31. Billboard reports that BTS is the second-largest selling act by total album sales in the United States in 2020, with 1.54 million copies sold across their catalog. Taylor Swift comes in first with 1.94 million sold.

BTS’s “Map of the Soul: 7” is the album with the second most sales in the United States in 2020, earning 674,009 sales. This chart is based on physical sales and digital album downloads and not overall equivalent album units (which in addition to album sales, also includes album equivalent songs from downloads and song streaming volume). On the Top 10 Albums ranking based on overall equivalent album units, Lil Baby’s “My Turn” takes No. 1 with 2.632 million units, and no Korean artists rank in the Top 10.
