On January 13, industry representatives reported that the actor will be starring in a tvN historical drama titled “Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi” (literal title).
In response to the report, Jo Byeong Gyu’s agency HB Entertainment commented, “He received an offer to star in ‘Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi’ and is reviewing it.”
The drama will revolve around secret royal inspectors whose job is to go undercover and expose corruption. Jo Byeong Gyu has been offered the role of Ra Yi Eon (Ryan), the youngest secret royal inspector who got first place in the state exams. He’s a dashing man with languid eyes, but the problem is that he doesn’t have any future goals.
The drama will be directed by Yoo Jong Sun and written by Lee Jae Yoon. Filming will start as soon as they cast all the actors, and it will air in the second half of the year.
Jo Byeong Gyu impressed many viewers with his acting in “SKY Castle” and “Stove League.” He is currently starring in “The Uncanny Counter,” which is setting new records for viewership ratings every week.
