Watch: Shin Ha Kyun And Yeo Jin Goo Face Off In Eerie Teaser For Psychological Thriller Drama
JTBC’s “Beyond Evil” has released a new teaser video!
“Beyond Evil” is a psychological thriller starring Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun as two men who are willing to break the rules and the law in their pursuit of a serial killer. The drama asks, “Who is the monster? Is it you? Is it me? Is it us?” The drama is helmed by director Shim Na Yeon, who worked on “Moments of 18” and “Han Yeo Reum’s Memory,” and written by scriptwriter Kim Soo Jin, who penned “Mad Dog.”
Shin Ha Kyun plays Lee Dong Shik, a former detective in the violent crimes division who has been demoted to a sergeant at a local police station. His life is turned upside down again when he reencounters an old serial killer case that shook up his world 20 years ago. Yeo Jin Goo plays Han Joo Won, an elite detective who comes down to the local police station in Manyang with a secret and becomes the partner of Lee Dong Shik.
The new teaser video begins with eerie shots of the town of Manyang. Yeo Jin Goo as Han Joo Won stands alone in a field where the wind is blowing, appearing to be looking for something. Shin Ha Kyun says as Lee Dong Shik, “Be careful. There are no secrets here. Someone, somewhere, is always watching everything.”
Han Joo Won is heard asking, “What’s your reason for going this far?” Lee Dong Shik replies, “Because it seems like there’s an officer who suspects me.” He goes on to say, “What happens here has to be dealt with here.”
The outsider Han Joo Won is hit in the back by someone throwing an egg, and Lee Dong Shik is shown smiling in a chilling way. The video’s text asks, “Which one of us is the monster?” Han Joo Won asks Lee Dong Shik, “Who killed them?” Lee Dong Shik replies in a sing-song voice with a smile, “Try to guess.” Viewers are left wondering what the village’s secret could be and what truth Han Joo Won will be trying to trying to track down in this unfamiliar place.
“Beyond Evil” makes its premiere in February.
