Watch: Shin Hye Sun, Kim Jung Hyun, And More Get Dramatically Immersed In Their Improvisations On "Mr. Queen"

“Mr. Queen” has dropped yet another fun behind-the-scenes clip of their cast!

The historical fusion drama is about a man from modern times whose soul is trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon dynasty. Shin Hye Sun stars as Kim So Yong, the Joseon queen with the soul of Blue House chef Jang Bong Hwan trapped inside her. Kim Jung Hyun plays her husband King Cheoljong, who is a weak and ineffective king on the outside but is stronger and sharper than he appears.

The video takes viewers onto the set of episodes 15 and 16 and starts with a scene between Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun. Shin Hye Sun explains that she’s going to grab his collar later and Kim Jung Hyun jokingly tells a staff member, “Please block it. She grabs it too well.” After, the two are incredibly immersed into the scene where Shin Hye Sun is raising her voice at Kim Jung Hyun. His eyes well up and he begins to cry before hilariously commenting, “I’m not supposed to cry. Sorry.”

In a later scene, Cha Chung Hwa and Chae Seo Eun have trouble learning the rules to the traditional card game called tujeon. After dramatically teasing Chae Seo Eun that she’s understood the rules, Cha Chung Hwa makes her laugh by admitting, “I have no idea what any of this means.”

The two are later joined by Shin Hye Sun who also has a hard time learning the rules. After getting the hang of it, the trio dive into filming the hilariously dramatic scene, pleasing the director and making all the staff crack up.

During the scene where Shin Hye Sun enjoys a pot of ramen in front of Kim Jung Hyun, she also focuses on improvising her lines where she explains what “voting” means to the king. She tells him all about identification cards and then eventually runs out of things to say, hilariously ending her speech with, “That’s all!”

The last scene features Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun reading a book and the caption reads, “We weren’t going to add this because it was too short but we put it in because it was so cute.” He throws her off with a sudden improvisation and the director encourages her to play along.

Kim Jung Hyun laughs while adorably insisting he won’t do it anymore in case he pressures Shin Hye Sun. The two still move forward with it as Kim Jung Hyun comments, “Sorry… we’ll do it quick!” and Shin Hye Sun perfectly responds to his improvised line.
