Lee Joon And Lee Jin Wook In Talks To Star In tvN's Upcoming Fantasy-Revenge Drama
Lee Joon and Lee Jin Wook might transform into mythical creatures for their next project!
On February 3, Ilgan Sports reported that Lee Joon would be starring in tvN’s “Bulgasal” (literal title) a drama Lee Jin Wook has been considering since last year.
Directed by Jang Young Woo of tvN’s 2016 drama “Entourage,” the series revolves around two characters. The first is a woman who has gone through several reincarnations over the course of 600 years and remembers all of her past lives. The second is a man named Dan Hwal who has lived as a bulgasal, a mythical creature that feeds off human blood and is cursed with immortality, for over 600 years. He used to be a human but is on the verge of losing the last remnants of humanity after so long a time. The only thing keeping him going is the desire for revenge against the woman that turned him into the monster he is today.
Lee Jin Wook has been offered the role of Dan Hwal, and a source from his agency BH Entertainment previously shared that the actor is positively reviewing the offer.
A source from Lee Joon’s agency Prain TPC also shared that the actor is positively reviewing an offer for a role in “Bulgasal.” If Lee Joon joins the cast, he will be taking on the character Ok Eul Tae, an insightful and manipulative bulgasal. He has enjoyed immorality for the past centuries and has accumulated immense wealth, which he uses to control politicians, businessmen, and the media. With his decadent beauty and overwhelming charisma, he has all the ingredients to be the most powerful figure in Korea. But because of a run-in with failure in the past, he hides the fact that he is a bulgasal and lives a subdued life in a small city.
Lee Joon is currently filming for the upcoming movie directed by Jung Woo Sung, “The Sea of Silence.” He is also hosts the radio show “Lee Joon’s Young Street” on SBS Power FM.
