Lee Je Hoon Shares Insight Into Action Scenes For His Upcoming Revenge Drama “Taxi Driver”
Upcoming SBS drama “Taxi Driver” released new stills of Lee Je Hoon!
Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Taxi Driver” is about a mysterious taxi service that takes revenge on behalf of victims who are unable to get justice from the law. It stars Lee Je Hoon, Esom, Kim Eui Sung, and APRIL‘s Naeun, and it is directed by Park Joon Woo and written by Oh Sang Ho.
Lee Je Hoon plays Kim Do Gi, a former special forces officer who works as a driver for the mysterious taxi service named Rainbow Transportation. The actor puts in much effort to portray the refreshing action scenes and charismatic character, who has great driving and car chasing skills and doesn’t lose even when he’s against multiple opponents.
In the newly released stills, Kim Do Gi drives the deluxe taxi all alone at night. Anger is evident in his burning gaze and the way he grabs tightly onto the steering wheel, exuding a powerful aura. In another image, Kim Do Gi meets up with a high school student, who appears to be a victim.
Lee Je Hoon shared, “Since Kim Do Gi is a taxi driver who used to be a former special forces officer, I tried to highlight the feeling that he is a former soldier. Kim Do Gi seems to not be excessive with his actions and is clean-cut, so I’m focusing on portraying this personality.” He added, “I also exercised in my spare time, managed my diet, and worked hard to make myself more nimble.”
The actor added, “‘Taxi Driver’ has a lot of action scenes, and since it’s one of the important points to watch out for in the drama, I put the most effort in creating realistic and natural action scenes. I think working out consistently helped me take on the action scenes, so I think the viewers will be able to immerse themselves a bit more into Kim Do Gi.”
“Taxi Driver” premieres on April 9. Watch a teaser for the drama here!
