So Ji Sub In Talks For New Crime Drama
So Ji Sub might be appearing in a new drama!
On February 24, Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that the actor would be taking a role in the upcoming Netflix production “Model Family” (literal title). So Ji Sub’s agency 51K later stated, “So Ji Sub has received an offer for a role in Netflix’s ‘Model Family’ and is reviewing it positively.”
“Model Family” will follow what happens when an ordinary family that is on the verge of collapse due to bankruptcy and internal feuds gets involved with a bloodthirsty drug ring. In the midst of dangerous missions and close calls, the members of the family will band together and become a model family as they stand up against the drug ring that threatens their livelihoods. At the helm of the production is producing director (PD) Kim Jin Woo, who directed “Love Alarm 2.”
If So Ji Sub accepts the offer, he will take on the role of Ma Kwang Chul, the drug ring’s cruel but quick-witted second-in-command. Starting off as a regular good-for-nothing operating gambling places and entertainment establishments, he catches the eye of the drug ring’s boss and ends up taking on a management role. After searching for traces of the gang members who disappeared while delivering money to a merchant ship, he runs into a regular family.
So Ji Sub previously starred in the film “Confession” and is currently filming for the upcoming film “Alien” (literal title).
