6 K-Pop Inspired Spring Fashion Trends That Will Be Fun To Wear (Even If No One Else Sees It)

The Spring 2021 fashion season is upon us – and as the weather warms up, many people are looking to refresh their wardrobes for the coming months. It’s fun to switch up your look and experiment with fashion, even if you’re not planning to go anywhere. Dress up for yourself and yourself only with these six spring-appropriate looks inspired by your favorite K-pop MVs!

1. Layered necklaces

SHINee’s back, and they’re rocking one of spring’s biggest trends: layered necklaces! There are tons of examples to take inspiration from in their “Don’t Call Me” MV, and we’ve highlighted a few here. This look is super easy to recreate with the accessories you already own, and don’t be afraid to mix and match different metals and textures!

2. Sparkles, sparkles, and more sparkles

Soloist queen Chungha slayed tons of fashion-forward looks in her “Bicycle” MV, and one thing we can definitely anticipate this season? All things shiny and sparkly! Like the jewelry trend, this look is all about the glam. It may not be the most wearable style out there, but glittery fabrics and shiny accents will definitely make a statement on your next grocery store run.

3. Monochrome moment

One surefire way to always look chic is to stick to one color for your whole look! This trend started gaining some serious popularity last season, but you can bet that it’ll stick around for at least a few more. ATEEZ totally rocked this one in their “Fireworks (I’m The One)” MV. If you’re after a more low-key way to try out the trends, this one is for you!

4. Prints and patterns

Rookie girl group aespa has the attention of the entire K-pop world with their music, talent, and visuals, but there’s one more thing to watch – their fashion! They’re on top of all the latest trends, including the ’90s-inspired patterns that are making a comeback this season. Have fun with gingham, pinstripes, and all manner of fun geometric prints knowing you’re totally on-trend!

5. Structured shoulders

Whether you love it or hate it, shoulder pads are back in a big way. iKON’s MV for their single “Why Why Why” features some amazing inspiration if you’re looking to achieve the structured shoulder look. A nice blazer à la the iKON MV fashion is a great way to layer up on those days where it’s just slightly too cold to be comfortable.

6. Statement sleeves

IZ*ONE’s “D-D-DANCE” MV is an impeccable example of pretty much all of the trends we discussed so far – you might even call them the trendsetters of the season! There’s one more key look to point out from this MV though, and it’s the incredible statement sleeves. From cloud-like puffy silhouettes  to fun frilly cuts, there’s a sleeve style for everyone this season.
