Woollim Entertainment Announces INFINITE’s Sunggyu’s Departure From Agency
INFINITE’s Sunggyu has left Woollim Entertainment following the expiration of his contract with the agency.
On March 7, Woollim Entertainment released the following statement:
Hello. This is Woollim Entertainment.
First, we would like to sincerely thank the fans who love and care for the group INFINITE.
We inform you that our exclusive contract with INFINITE member Sunggyu, who has been with us for the past 11 years, has expired as of March 6, 2021.
Ahead of the expiration of the exclusive contract, we have had lengthy discussions with artist Sunggyu and have mutually come to the decision to not renew the contract.
Sunggyu has worked harder than anyone else in various areas as the leader of INFINITE since 2010.
We relay our genuine gratitude to Sunggyu, who has stayed with the company for a long time.
We also thank the fans who sent unsparing support for Sunggyu’s music and activities, and we will sincerely support the future of Sunggyu, who has a new start ahead of him.
Previously on February 28, Sunggyu shared the news that he would not be renewing with Woollim Entertainment through a V LIVE broadcast. He also revealed that he will be releasing a new album with the agency for the last time. He mentioned that the other INFINITE members’ contracts will also expire soon and reassured fans that INFINITE will continue on as a group.
Last December, Sunggyu released his third solo mini album “INSIDE ME.”
We wish Sunggyu all the best on his new start!
