8 Idols Whose First Impressions Are Different From Their Actual Personalities

Whenever an idol artist or group are about to debut, every K-pop fan looks forward to meeting their potential future bias. Now, first impressions are not always telling of an idol’s real personality. It takes a lot of time, live broadcasts, and guest-starring on variety shows to get a better sense of their real character.

Here are some idols who show a different first impression than their actual personalities.

1. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo

This handsome young man has more than just his looks to flaunt. Aside from being ASTRO’s visual, Cha Eun Woo exhibits strong tsundere vibes in live performances. Clearly, he is much more than that once he gets off the stage, as he shows his playful and cheesy side for viewers to discover and enjoy.

2. Stray Kids’ Felix

The duality of Felix on and off stage is surreal. Perhaps his most famous moment is his part in “God’s Menu” that dropped jaws left and right, leaving K-pop fans shocked by the depth of his voice and badass energy. But when you look into the idol’s character, you’ll find out that he is all innocent and bubbly. In fact, some of his nicknames are “happiness” and “Felix Sunshine.”

3. NCT’s Taeyong

Not many know about the soft side of Taeyong because his idol image portrays him as mysterious and intimidating. Add to that his position as a leader, further emphasizing his poise. Yet there is always a clumsy and fun part of Taeyong that will surprise fans who are not familiar with him outside of his music.

4. Jessi

Everybody knows and loves Jessi because she keeps it real. Although she’s known for being fierce, there is actually a sweet side to Jessica that shows up not only during some of her variety show interactions, but also when she performs live. You can see her smiling during performances, which happens more often than you’d think.

5. EXO’s Kai

Kai is another idol who’s known for being sexy and possibly intimidating. This is naturally due to his idol persona, but underneath he is actually very shy and quiet. Surely if you compare dancer Kai and regular guy Kai, you’ll see just why it would be hard for people to believe that he is both.

6. MONSTA X’s Joohoney

It only takes one listen to Joohoney’s mixtapes to realize he’s a rapping beast. Now, one look at Joohoney doing anything else would show the other side of his personality coin: a cute, funny, and easily frightened man who is simply a delight to watch!

7. BTS’s V

When you think about this BTS member, you can already visualize the two sides of his persona inside your head. While V is all about bringing a breathtaking performance to the stage with a gaze to die for, Taehyung is all about expressing his emotions with his legendary facial expressions. Either way, both versions are very much appreciated!

8. BLACKPINK’s Lisa

When BLACKPINK’s first teasers dropped, everyone thought Lisa to be a badass. Well, she is a badass but with a sweet and charming personality on the side: that’s right, this fiery rapper also loves to tease her members and share her cuteness and giggles with the fans.
