Watch: “The Penthouse 2” Cast (Including Uhm Ki Joon) Celebrate Joo Dan Tae’s Life Imprisonment In Behind-The-Scenes Video
“The Penthouse 2” released a fun but chaotic behind-the-scenes look at the drama, which recently finished its second season.
The video begins with a quick look at star cameos from entertainer Jang Sung Kyu and actor Yoo Joon Sang. Jang Sung Kyu jokes that he will be back in season 3, to the befuddlement of the production staff, and Yoo Joon Sang and Uhm Ki Joon have fun rehearsing their characters’ scene. Lee Ji Ah silently struggles in the background because her character has so many lines in this episode.
Eugene, Bong Tae Gyu, and Yoon Jong Hoon prepare to get physical during the courtroom scene, and Eugene jokes, “Shouldn’t you be flying in on wires?” When it comes time to show the behind-the-scenes for Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon’s character)’s sentencing, the production staff fast-forward the clip because Joo Dan Tae is accused of too many crimes to fit in the video. As soon as the judge sentences Joo Dan Tae to life imprisonment, Eugene and Kim So Yeon start clapping and cheering and Uhm Ki Joon “celebrates” his character’s sentence.
When Uhm Ki Joon shouts, “Why I am I the only one with life imprisonment?”, the rest of the cast and crew just cheer and applaud again. The courtroom scene is an amusing contrast between the seriousness and rage of the characters and the actors, who keep laughing as soon as the director says “cut.” Bong Tae Gyu grabs Yoon Jong Hoon during a scene and Yoon Jong Hoon says as soon as the camera stops rolling, “That really frightened me.” Eugene gets hit by Kim So Yeon, who immediately apologizes. During Cheon Seo Jin and Joo Dan Tae’s brawl, the director jokes to Kim So Yeon, “You can kick him anywhere but the face” and she quips back, “Oh, so I wasn’t supposed to hit the face?”
The video also shows the scenes of the younger actors who play the Hera Palace children, with Jo Soo Min (Min Seol Ah) coming for a visit.
