Watch: Yeo Jin Goo And Shin Ha Kyun Rehearse High-Tension Arrest Scene In “Beyond Evil”
“Beyond Evil” is a drama about the psychological battle between two men who are hunting for the truth behind a re-opened serial killer case. Shin Ha Kyun stars as Lee Dong Shik, a small-town police officer with a tragic past, and Yeo Jin Goo stars as Han Joo Won, Lee Dong Shik’s new partner. Choi Jin Ho plays Han Gi Hwan, Han Joo Won’s father, and the future chief of the National Police Agency.
In the behind-the-scenes video, the mood on set starts off light as Yeo Jin Goo bursts into Han Gi Hwan’s office with a cute sound effect. Choi Jin Ho responds jokingly, “And then I’ll be startled and the gun will go off,” imagining a more comedic scene than the one in the script. The actors, including Shin Ha Kyun, start rehearsing the scene in earnest as the director gives detailed instructions about movements and emotional expression.
Even in the midst of serious rehearsal, the actors find time to goof off at moments about the loud sounds made by the prop gun, as well as the fake glass that will shatter at the shot. As soon as the shot is filmed, Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo help Choi Jin Ho to his feet and ask if he had fallen on the fake glass. While preparing for their emotional exchange, Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo check on each other about their next movement and lighten the mood with jokes.
