Upcoming drama “Youth of May” released a new making-of video!

“Youth of May” is a romance drama about the fateful meeting of Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) and Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si), who fall in love amidst the whirlwind of events that take place in May 1980—a historically significant time period in South Korea.

The newly released video gives a behind-the-scenes look at the filming for the drama’s posters. Lee Do Hyun begins by introducing his character Hwang Hee Tae, a medical student student at Seoul National University who has a sly and mischievous side but is determined and driven underneath. Kim Myung Hee appears in his life like water in a drought. Regarding his relationship with Go Min Si, Lee Do Hyun shares, “Since we’re same-aged friends, we’re compatible. We filmed while talking a lot and exchanging gazes in order to add a melodramatic and affectionate atmosphere.” During the photo shoot, Lee Do Hyun expresses his wish for COVID-19 to disappear quickly because of how perfect the weather is to go on outings.

Go Min Si describes her character Kim Myung Hee as a nurse three years into her career who has already gone through all sorts of hardships in her young life. She shares, “Through meeting someone, she encounters the most brilliant May in her life.” About the photo shoot, Go Min Si explains, “It’s slightly a shame that it’s windier than I expected, but I think the posters came out well as if we have an affectionate and sentimental relationship.”

Lee Sang Yi will be playing Lee Soo Chan, the son of a wealthy family who has returned from studying abroad in France. Lee Sang Yi shares, “He’s a figure that gradually changes as he watches unthinkable things unfold before his eyes.” The actor adds, “Needless to say, the chemistry is really good. There are a lot of actors around my age, so I’m excited, and I feel comfortable.”

Geum Sae Rok will be taking on the role of Lee Soo Chan’s younger sister Lee Soo Ryun, who is is a student in the law department. She desperately fights for social justice because she feels responsibility for coming from a wealthy family. Geum Sae Rok explains, “She’s a figure whose ideals from a rich family contrast with her desire to participate in the student movement.”

Lee Do Hyun introduces his dog Ga Eul who is visiting the set. Lee Do Hyun shares, “She’s my daughter. I think she knows how to enjoy being on camera. Do you like showing off your left side too?” Go Min Si tries to get Ga Eul to shake hands with her, but Ga Eul refuses to listen. When Lee Do Hyun asks for Ga Eul’s hand, Ga Eul appears to get embarrassed and hides behind Lee Do Hyun.
