ATEEZ’s Mingi Revealed To Have Participated In Recording Their New Song For “Kingdom”
Last November, Mingi temporarily halted all activities to focus on his health after experiencing symptoms of psychological anxiety. Although he was recently spotted at the airport with his fellow ATEEZ members, fueling speculation about a potential return, he is currently still on hiatus.
On May 27, “Kingdom” released a sneak peek of ATEEZ’s new track for its upcoming final round of competition, in which the six competing groups will go head-to-head with brand-new songs.
That same day, KQ Entertainment officially announced that while Mingi will not be performing alongside his bandmates on the upcoming finale of “Kingdom,” he did participate in recording the song together with the other ATEEZ members before his hiatus.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is KQ Entertainment.
“The Real,” ATEEZ’s new song for the final round of Mnet’s “Kingdom,” will be released online on major music platforms tomorrow, May 28 at 12 p.m.
ATEEZ completed recording for their new song “The Real,” which they will perform in the final round, before Mingi halted his activities. Therefore, the version of the song that will be released is the full, eight-member version, but like all of their other “Kingdom” performances up until now, the group will be performing the seven-member version on stage during the show.
We ask in advance for the understanding of the many ATINY [ATEEZ’s fandom] who, after hearing Mingi’s voice in the song, might have felt happy and surprised and looked forward to seeing a full eight-member performance on the show.
We ask that ATINY show lots of interest and support for ATEEZ’s new song for “Kingdom,” “The Real,” as well as their final performance.
The final episode of “Kingdom” will air live on June 3 at 7:50 p.m. KST. In the meantime, check out a preview of all six groups’ new songs for the final round here!
