Watch: Lee Do Hyun And Go Min Si Tease Each Other Endlessly On Set Of "Youth Of May"

A new behind-the-scenes video has been released for “Youth of May”!

The KBS romance drama is about medical student Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) and nurse Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si), who fall in love amidst the whirlwind of events that take place in May 1980—a historically significant time period in South Korea.

The clip begins with Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si filming a scene in which they fight back against a soldier and run away together. As they run off, Lee Do Hyun realizes that the guitar case is empty and yells to Go Min Si, “You go first! I have to find the guitar!” He teases when she breaks a block of wood, “I told you to hit lightly!” and asks the actor getting hit, “Are you okay?” When Go Min Si is on the ground, the cameraman tells Lee Do Hyun to act as if he is checking if she is okay, and he suddenly pretends that it is a medical checkup as he checks her eyes and pulse. They they continue the shoot with more fighting and running, and the actors collapse to the ground from the rigorous filming.

The video then shows the scene in which Lee Sang Yi’s character gets assaulted by a soldier. While lying on the ground, he asks the actor playing the soldier to hit him harder several times, saying, “I think it will be okay for you to hit harder.” After a few stronger hits, Lee Sang Yi draws laughter as he comments, “But less harder than this.”

For the next scene, Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun adorably make hearts with their arms to let the staff know that they’re ready to begin filming. As they’re filming a scene in which Lee Do Hyun is nagging, he suddenly starts singing IU and Im Seulong’s “Nagging.” Go Min Si then shows her script that is being colored with all the fake blood from filming. When they’re filming by the ambulance, Lee Do Hyun pretends to interview Go Min Si and asks what is being filmed, to which she says she can’t answer as it is a spoiler. Lee Do Hyun then begins rambling about how this is behind-the-scenes content that will be released after the episode, and Go Min Si looks at the camera and comments, “Too much talking.” In the ambulance, Lee Do Hyun sticks the fan in Go Min Si’s face, and she takes revenge by hitting his head with a small wood stick.

Next, they film in the hospital, and the actors pretend to grill meat with medical supplies and a candle. In between takes, Lee Do Hyun tells Go Min Si about a “Crayon Shin-chan” movie scene in which Shin-chan’s father wakes up crying after smelling his shoe, and he asks her, “Can you act that out once?” Laughing in disbelief, Go Min Si responds as she slaps his shoulder, “Why would I do that?” He explains, “Because you’re lying down! If I was lying down, I would’ve done it.” Go Min Si sighs as she says to the camera, “I’m having such a hard time. He’s such a tiring type of person. I have no idea what he’s talking about.”

The video ends with Go Min Si being done for the day as one of her scenes got canceled, and Lee Do Hyun mentions to the camera, “Look how happy she has become! Please film her facial expression.” She pretends to cry, and Lee Do Hyun comments, “You’re using your acting skills for something like this?” As she smiles at the thought of going home and teases Lee Do Hyun who still has filming left, he jokes, “I hate that eye smile of hers!”
