Epik High Talks About Coming Up With Title Of Their New Song, Friendship With BTS, And More

On July 1, Epik High appeared on the SBS Power FM radio show “Cultwo Show.”

Epik High recently made a comeback with the single “Rain Song” featuring Colde, the group’s first time releasing a single that is not part of an album or an OST. In Korean, the title of the song is “A song to listen to when it’s raining.”

Tablo said that he had come up with the title to make the song easy to search for, such as when people search for “songs to listen to when it’s raining” on rainy days. The radio show host also brought up the fact that Epik High is known for “rain songs” like “Umbrella,” featuring Younha. Although the song was released in 2008, the group shared that it was still among their top songs in terms of copyright royalties.

When Epik High released “Rain Song,” BTS shared a screenshot of the song on their Twitter account.

Tablo said, “The members all share the same account, so I don’t know who uploaded the photo, but it showed that they were listening to the song. We’re close with RM and Suga. Back when we weren’t close, they came to visit us in our waiting room. We became friends then. They told us that they grew their dreams while listening to our song ‘FLY.’ When we see them getting awards all over the world, we think, ‘It’s a good thing we made ‘FLY.'”
