Yoo Jae Suk is confirmed to leave FNC Entertainment.

The agency released the following official statement on July 6:

Hello. This is FNC Entertainment.

This is an announcement that our exclusive contract with Yoo Jae Suk, a comedian who was part of our agency, expires on July 15.

Following discussions with Yoo Jae Suk, who expressed his wish to take on a new challenge, we will conclude our management duties [for Yoo Jae Suk] and cheer on each other’s futures.

We express gratitude to Yoo Jae Suk, who has carried out active promotions as a celebrity of FNC Entertainment through the long period of six years.

We also express gratitude to the fans who have sent constant love and support to Yoo Jae Suk, and we ask that you continue to send generous support. Thank you.

Yoo Jae Suk is in talks to sign with a new agency.

Following earlier reports of the star leaving FNC Entertainment, industry representatives reported that Yoo Jae Suk will be signing with Antenna.

A source from Antenna clarified in response, “It is true that we recently had a meeting with Yoo Jae Suk regarding an exclusive contract, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Antenna is a company founded by musician Yoo Hee Yeol and currently houses artists including Jung Seung Hwan, Sam Kim, Jukjae, Kwon Jin Ah, Lee Jin Ah, Jung Jae Hyung, and more. Kakao Entertainment’s M Company recently acquired a portion of Antenna’s stocks, launching a partnership between the companies.

Yoo Jae Suk may be parting ways with his current agency FNC Entertainment.

On July 6, JTBC reported that Yoo Jae Suk’s exclusive contract with FNC Entertainment was ending on July 15, 2021.

Yoo Jae Suk signed with FNC Entertainment on July 16, 2015 and renewed his contract three years later in July 2018. Now that another three years have passed, his contract will be expiring soon, and a potential renewal is up for discussion. According to JTBC, both Yoo Jae Suk and FNC Entertainment have agreed to not renew the contract.

A source from the entertainment industry shared, “A celebrity can start reaching out [to other agencies] when there are three months left in their contract. As far as I know, there is already an agency that sent Yoo Jae Suk an offer.”

In response to the report, a source from FNC Entertainment said in a statement to OSEN, “Yoo Jae Suk is under FNC Entertainment, and it is difficult for us to tell you the details regarding his contract. We ask for your understanding in that regard.”

Meanwhile, Yoo Jae Suk is currently hosting the variety shows “How Do You Play?” “Running Man,” “You Quiz on the Block,” and “The Sixth Sense 2.”
