Girl Group Leader Shares Her Resolve And Gratitude On "The King Of Mask Singer"

On the July 11 episode of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer,” eight new contestants emerged to take on the challenge for the crown.

The last match-up of Round 1 was between Bul-mung and Mul-mung, who covered 015B and O.WHEN’s “Without All the Traces of Time.” Bul-mung showed a dreamlike vocal tone, while Mul-mung highlighted her powerful voice.

Bul-mung advanced to Round 2, and Mul-mung unmasked while singing Younha’s “Password 486” to reveal herself as MOMOLAND’s leader, vocalist, and rapper Hyebin.

Hyebin shared, “Even now, my teeth are chattering and my hands are shaking. This was the first time I’d performed for a long period of time with just my voice, so I was really nervous. I didn’t think that there was anyone who knew my name or my voice, but I was surprised and grateful to learn that there were. My nickname is ‘Hyeb-jjang.’ I made it myself and it means, ‘Hyebin will be jjang [the best]. I’ll work harder in order to make that nickname come true.”

Songwriter and producer Ryan Jhun had previously guessed that it was Hyebin under the mask.
