BTOB's Minhyuk, Joo Ji Hoon, Kim Nam Gil, And More Test Negative For COVID-19 + Minhyuk To Go Into Self-Quarantine
Several stars have put their activities on hold despite testing negative for COVID-19.
On July 14, Cube Entertainment officially announced that BTOB’s Minhyuk had undergone testing for COVID-19 after his vocal teacher tested positive for the virus. Fortunately, Minhyuk’s results came back negative, but in accordance with government guidelines, the idol will still be going into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.
On July 13, BTOB’s Minhyuk’s vocal teacher was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Therefore, Minhyuk underwent testing for COVID-19 this morning as a precautionary measure, and his test results came back negative.
While we have not yet received any specific instructions from health authorities, Minhyuk will be going into self-quarantine at his home for the time being in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, until there are further instructions from health authorities.
We apologize once again for giving many people cause for concern.
We will continue to follow health guidelines and do our utmost to ensure our artists’ health and safety in the future as well.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae’s upcoming film “Hunt” (literal title) similarly announced that the cast had tested negative for COVID-19 after one of the movie’s producers and a member of the production staff were both diagnosed with the virus.
The producers of the film stated, “All of the actors who made special appearance in ‘Hunt,’ including Joo Ji Hoon, Kim Nam Gil, Park Sung Woong, Jo Woo Jin, and Jung Man Sik, immediately underwent testing after hearing the news that a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19. On the morning of July 14, their results all came back negative.”
Lee Jung Jae, who is both directing and starring in “Hunt,” and fellow lead Jung Woo Sung also tested negative for the virus. However, as a precautionary measure, the actors who tested negative will still be staying at home for the time being.
As for when the movie will resume filming, the producers shared, “Our filming schedule for the future has not yet been decided.”
