Jin Kyung, Choi Dae Hoon, Woo Davi, And More Confirmed As Supporting Cast For Im Soo Jung And Lee Do Hyun’s New Drama
tvN’s upcoming drama “Melancholia” (literal title) has revealed a star-studded supporting cast!
“Melancholia” is a drama about a corrupt private high school that shows preferential treatment to students. Im Soo Jung stars as Ji Yoon Soo, a passionate high school math teacher, and Lee Do Hyun stars as Baek Seung Yoo, a loner who is ranked last place at his high school but was a renowned math prodigy as a child.
Jin Kyung will play Noh Jung Ah, an influential person at the corrupt Ahsung Private Educational Institute and the head of the school administration at Ahsung High School. Choi Dae Hoon will play Ryu Sung Jae, the fiancé of Ji Yoon Soo and a policy advisor at the Office of Education. He is a gentleman when it comes to love, but has a strong competitive streak.
Jang Hyun Sung will play Sung Min Joon, the parent of a student who attends Ahsung High School. He is a member of the National Assembly and on the upward path to success. Byun Jung Soo will play Yoo Hye Mi, a top actress who is married to Sung Min Joon. Although she is ignorant in many ways, she takes pride in being the mother of the No. 1 student at the high school and is fiercely dedicated to her child’s education.
Their child, Sung Ye Rin, the top-ranked student at Ahsung High School, will be played by Woo Davi.
Kim Ho Jin and Baek Ji Won will play Baek Min Sik and Min Hee Seung, the parents of Baek Seung Yoo. In their neighborhood, where the parents’ social status depends on their children’s grades at school, Baek Min Sik takes pride in the fact that his son was certified as a genius as a child. Min Hee Seung, on the other hand, frets about the fact that her son is now ranked last at his school.
